Face in a tooth

All day I look at teeth, every once in a while they look back at me.
Thank you to the King City Lions club for their help getting our hygiene group to Liberia, Africa.  Here we are at the Liberia airport paying tribute to the king city lions club that helped sponsor our trip. We had no idea that this would become the epicenter of the Ebola outbreak only six months later.
We are beginning another year at the Oregon Tech dental Hygiene program at Chemeketa Community College.  Here is a photo of me (Dr. Young) on the far right with the faculty/staff at Oregon Tech.

Oregon tech is one of the few bachelors degree dental hygiene programs in Oregon.  We are a new program and have graduated one class so far.  I have enjoyed teaching for the past three years as I grow my dental practice in King City.

My family recently had a photo session with Andrew Walsh where the kids wore their sport gear, and we all brushed our teeth, we hope to put the photos in our office soon.  Watch for the portraits in our King City Dental office waiting room.  Here is a sample.

On amore sobering note...
During my stay in Liberia, Africa I had the pleasure of meeting Rick Sacra. He has been a medical missionary in Liberia for many years (nearly his entire career as I understand it). I worked in the Dental clinic just across the hall from his office. So to see his name in the papers hits close to home. He was kind enough to help Maima, a girl that missed a year of school due to an abcessed jaw. Our group found Maima as we drove throught the jungles of Liberia treating kids, we passed her onto Dr Sacra as our short trip came to a close. He is a great doctor and I wish him a quick recovery from the ebola he acquired while treating patients since the epidemic broke out. Here is a photo of Dr. Sacra and our Pt. maima.

Follow Maima's story below.
